A very fine, detailed early 20th Century landscape view in oil, by the listed artist W.H. Hill. Entitled 'Theydon Mount', Hill has captured a classic scene, evocative of traditional English country life. The village of Theydon Mount sits in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England.
Well-presented in a titled gilt wooden frame with unusual horse-shoe pattern moulding, and a plain gilt slip, as shown.Signed and inscribed. On canvas on stretchers.
In very good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is some minor surface discolouration, and craquelure. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. The frame has some minor scuffing, and speckled surface marks. Very small losses to the lower corners.
