Thomas Gaugain - Pair Original 1780 Mezzotint.

A pair of mezzotints with etching, both dated 1780 and trimmed to the plate. Designed and engraved by Thomas Gaugain. The print of "Annette" has two horizontal folds, a diagonal crease towards the lower edge, a repaired 3cm tear at the lower right edge, light foxing, stains towards the right edge and a small hole at the top edge. The print of "Lubin" also has two horizontal folds, a light vertical crease, light foxing and abrasion at the top edge. Lettered below the image with the title and 'Design'd & Engrav'd by Thos. Gaugain, from Marmontel's moral Tales / London Pubd,, according to Act Octr, 20,, 1780, by T,, Gaugain No,, 4 Little Compton Street, Soho'.
