Thomas Ellison (1866-c.1942) - Early 20th Century Watercolour, The Rocky River
DescriptionA wonderful watercolour of excellent size showing a sparkling river running through the shallows of a rocky bend. The artist has achieved a beautiful glowing light in the distance, paired crisply with the architectural shadows of a humpback bridge in the middle ground. The artist has signed to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in a contemporary gilt frame with a simple wash-line mount and glazing. On wove.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame and mount are in fine condition.
