Lawrence Spence

A fine and accomplished collection of works by the artist and, more famously, English cricketer Lawrence 'Lol' Spence. Born in Blaby, Leicestershire in 1932, Spence became a successful cricket player, making a total of twenty first-class appearances for Leicestershire, scoring 326 runs. As a fine artist, he painted many local scenes around the county, as well as further afield. Spence passed away in 2017, aged 85. This collection includes a selection of watercolour, oil and pastel paintings, depicting charming landscape views, atmospheric coastal scenes and captivating portraits.
