Inge Clayton FRSA (1942-2010) - Signed 1986 Monotype, The Nude
DescriptionAn evocative monoprint with watercolour wash by admired feminist artist Inge Clayton. The unusual composition shows a seemingly traditionally posed female nude. However to the lower right Clayton has ominously included a male figure. By including the presence of a man within the artwork Clayton denaturalises the presence of a male gaze, politicising traditional representations of the female nude. Signed and dated. On wove.
