This collection of contemporary Chinese ink wash paintings is both delicate and striking. The collection includes a variety of themes and subjects, from traditional landscapes to humorous depictions of cats and birds. Drawing on ancient painterly methods originating in the Tang dynasty of China, Dongfang has used elegant brushwork mixed with fine calligraphy skills to produce a wonderful selection of drawings and illustrations.

Although many of the works are unsigned, a letter enclosed in the original sketchbooks links this work to Hu Dongfang.
