The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. With a small 4cm tear to lower edge and various creasing to the edges of the paper.

Painter and printmaker, son of the artist Norman Macbeth (1821-1888). Born in Helensburgh, Scotland Henry studied at Edinburgh University and art at Royal Scottish Academy Schools and at Académie Julian in Paris. He was elected a member of RE in 1905 and of RA in 1933 and served on both their councils. He was a member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Club 1943-45 and also exhibited at ROI, RSA, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and at the RI and elsewhere. He was a member of the Chelsea Arts Club and his work is in the GAC. He was the husband of Marjorie May Bacon.
