Sulis Fine Art is excited to present a fine Belgian street scene by the artist Henri Cassiers. The artist has wonderfully captured the Rue de la Cigogne in Brussels. Handwritten label to the reverse gives the location and medium. Handsomely presented in a tortoiseshell effect frame. Signed. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some minor discolouration. Very minor signs of flaking paint. Minor marks to the frame and slight widening to some of the joints.

Artist Biography
Henri Cassiers was born in 1858 in Antwerp. ; In Brussels he studied architecture under P. Saintenoy. ; He also followed courses at "La Patte de Dindon" Vrije Academie in Brussels and in Antwerp at "St. Josse-Ten-Noode" Academie as well as the Fine Arts Academy.
His mentors included Henri Stacquet (1836-1906) and Charles William Bartlett (1860-1940). ; In 1881 he put on his first exhibition and subsequently travelled ;extensively in England, Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy and The Netherlands. ;
