Early 19th Century Etching - A Corner In Ancient Rouen

A fine etching showing a street scene in ancient Rouen. The artist has rendered the cobbled streets and timber framing of the buildings in high detail. The text on the shop fronts adds great character and depth to the scene. The original plate lines are intact.

The artist has signed illegibly in pencil to the lower edge of the plate lines and inscribed the title in the lower left. The etching is presented in a wood frame with pale brown card mount and glazing.

On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing across the surface. The frame is in fine condition..
