A dynamic hunting scene, showing an unmanned horse, leaping from a hedge row, while its rider climbs out the ditch to chase it. Another rider tries to get hold of the fleeing horse's reins as the hounds run around their feet. The painting is unsigned and presented in a wood frame with a simple wash-line mount and glazing. The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. The frame has some light surface scuffing and the mount has some discolouration.
