Catherine Board - Early 19th Century Watercolour, Flying The British Flag

About Our Frames

A sweet miniature watercolour showing a rosy cheeked girl with blonde ringlets, holding a Union Jack on a long stick. The figure is in vibrant coloured watercolour and the surrounding landscape is in graphite, a technique typical of the era. The artist has signed to the lower right corner and inscribed on the reverse.

On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including minor discolouration to the paper. The paintings vibrancy is still strong.
