David Wilson (1919-2013) - 1989 Oil, St Albans Meadow

A wintry, impressionistic landscape, showing a meadow in St Albans, covered in snow and frost. The pretty, icy palette of mauve and blue enhances the chilly atmosphere and casts a wonderful light across the trees.

The painting has been signed to the lower right corner and is on canvas over stretchers.

On canvas.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a scratch to the canvas at the back which is visible across the front of the painting.

76.5 x 102cm (30.1" x 40.2")
