A detailed gouache painting with blue pen details by the artist Sandison O'Neill, depicting a view of Port Bannatyne in the Isle of Bute. The are two labels on the revere inscribed with the artist's name and a short biography. Well-presented in a double card mount and in a contemporary wood-effect frame. On wove.


The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor surface marks. Small scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography

Sandison O'Neill was a painter primarily in oil, and is better known for his paintings of Cornish harbour scenes. He lived in Kew and was working in the early 1950s, however he subsequently moved to the Isle of Bute, where he remained until his death in the mid 1960s.
