C.F.G.C. - Framed Late 19th Century Watercolour, Castle Grant
DescriptionA finely executed watercolour with body color and gum arabic, depicting Grant Castle. Inscription possibly refers to its location: West Lodge, Grantown-on-Spey. Monogrammed to the lower left hand corner of the painting. Well presented in a washline card mount and an ornate gilt effect frame. Signed with monogram. On watercolour paper.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. Some very small surface marks, only visible upon close inspection, to both the painting and card mount. Otherwise, painting in good condition. Some paint and moulding loss to the frame.
