A. Wellwood Rattray ARSA (1849-1902) - Watercolour, Woman in Country Landscape
DescriptionA charming watercolour painting with gouache details by the British artist Alexander Wellwood Rattray. The scene depicts a female figure holding a small basket, walking along a rural path. This well-balanced composition is illustrative of the artist's proficiency in the subject and medium. There is an artist's stamp of authenticity and signature on the reverse. Well-presented in a cream card mount and in an ornate gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including discolouration to the overall surface. Minor scuffs and marks to the mount.
